Today, as part of our Library Outreach program, we shipped hundreds of scientific reading materials to our partner libraries in Lodwar, Kenya and Mpika, Zambia, the Kijiji Kids Community Library (the location of this library is pictured below) and the Mpika District Community Library, respectively.
The two shipments contained over 350 books, magazines, and journals in the subjects of science, technology, engineering, and math. We included materials intended for children of all ages, professional researchers, and everyone in between.
Both the startup libraries will use this literature to establish locations that have a plethora of scientific resources available. Because of this, many more people in those developing regions will have the opportunity to study science. Our hope is that quite a few of them will go on to become intelligent, renowned scientists that will go on to make discoveries that change the world for the better.
We would like to thank all of our supporters and volunteers (one of our volunteers is pictured below along with our President/CEO Rithvik Musuku and our Vice-President Zahir Abdul) for making this shipment possible. We truly could not have done this without you and look forward to your continued support in the future.
We will post another update once we receive confirmation that the two libraries have received our shipments.
